Abstract. In the paper the micropolar inhomogeneity problem is investigated in details. The problem consists in determining the displacement and rotation fields in an unbounded micropolar solid which contains a single micropolar non-homogeneity and which undergoes homogeneous stress and couple-stress fields at infinity. The obtained results are employed for a calculation and bounding of the overall moduli for a composite material consisting of micropolar constituents.
